Read PDF Webtoons on iPhone and iPad: Scrolling, Cropping and Page Splits
A PDF webtoon can be difficult to read when its pages contain white borders, paired scans or mismatched image widths. In Manga Capsule, start with vertical scrolling, then inspect the page layout before changing cropping or spread settings.

Start with the actual PDF layout
A comic originally drawn as a continuous vertical strip differs from a scanned print comic with two pages per PDF sheet. Check a few representative pages first. A portrait page, a wide spread and a very tall image can need different display choices.

Use vertical scrolling for a vertical comic
Open a book and use the reader's layout controls to choose a vertical reading mode. If automatic recognition produces a layout you do not want, adjust the mode manually. Scroll across several page boundaries and check whether blank space comes from the reader or is part of the source image.
Cropping can reduce unwanted borders, but it cannot reliably distinguish every intentional pause or gutter in the artwork. Avoid assuming every white area should disappear. For more context, see the webtoon seam guide.
Split a scanned spread or show a real spread
Splitting an image containing two pages is different from displaying two single pages next to one another. On a phone, split display can make each half readable. On an iPad in landscape, a two-page layout can preserve the composition of paired pages.
Inspect the cover and an interior spread after changing the setting. The best left/right order depends on the book's reading direction. See split and merge controls.
Crop conservatively
Try automatic margin cropping on a bordered scan, then check pages with text near the edge. Switch it off or adjust it if content disappears. The amount of screen area saved depends on the PDF; there is no universal percentage improvement. See PDF white-margin settings.
Understand loading and storage
Manga Capsule supports PDF reading, but a remote PDF does not always stream. Mounted iCloud files, PDFs from some cloud services, encrypted PDFs and PDFs that cannot be parsed remotely follow a local-download path. Downloaded books and reading caches use device storage. Opening time varies with the file, connection, source and device.
For offline reading, download the volume fully and test with networking off. A previously opened remote book does not guarantee every page is cached. Choose by a small real-file check
Try a long-image PDF, a bordered scan and a spread on your own device. Check legibility, page order, scroll behavior and offline reopening. If comparing apps, record their versions, your device, file and cache state rather than treating a marketing table as a benchmark.
