Manga Capsule 1.42 Release~

This post covers both versions 1.41 and 1.42 together. At the end of the last post, I said 'the next version will be something high-end,' but as soon as summer hit, I got busy with various things. The high-end stuff is still in the works, so let's first clear up the real issues in these two versions. In the heat of summer, we continue to optimize~

Support for 123 Cloud Drive

A cloud drive that many people in China use, and it's fast. If you have manga stored there, you can now connect and read directly.

Eye-Tracking Page Turning

You can enable this in Settings > General Settings. When your hands are busy, you can turn pages with your eyes. I personally find this feature quite fun, and I welcome feedback on how well it works.

Save Images as a Book

In the top-right corner, under the '+' import menu, there's a new feature: save manga images from WeChat official accounts or Weibo and compile them into a book. Previously, you had to save to your photo album first and then import into the app; now it's done in one step.

Most Encrypted ZIPs Can Now Be Opened

Previously, encrypted ZIP files couldn't be opened at all. In this version, most can be read after entering a password.

Fixed Two Long-Standing Issues

Fixed the seam issue when viewing PDFs in high resolution.
Fixed the issue where some users reported that the Komga bookshelf wasn't refreshing.

Here's what's new in 1.42:

Smoother Book Transfer

WIFI book transfer now shows progress, so you know what's happening when transferring large files, and stability has been improved. USB wired transfer issues have also been optimized.

Local Files Can Be Renamed

If your collected manga titles are messy, you can now rename them yourself. (The file extension is locked to prevent accidental changes.)

Aliyun Drive Folder Display Issue

Folders with a large number of files were previously not fully displayed. In this version, the directory now loads with pagination, so even thousands of files are no problem.

Merged Next Page & Center Seam Issues

Images from the 'merge next page' feature can now be saved with a long press.
Fixed the center seam issue in half-page and simulated page-turning modes, and also fixed the seams in high-resolution PDF strip manga stitching.

Phone Sidebar Gesture Optimization

You can now swipe from the screen edge to open and close the sidebar, making one-handed operation much smoother.

Added a Tutorial Entry

New users can avoid detours, and the tutorial content will be further improved in the future.

Cleared a Bunch of Crashes

Crashes when slicing large PDF strip manga, crashes during simulated page-turning zoom gestures, crashes in scrolling lists, crashes in AI HD reconstruction... I went through the logs one by one and fixed them. Hopefully, things will be stable for a while.
